intereresting and controversial issues
SO MANY ISSUES..
its coming to the end of the week and i've gotten more and more new knowledge on certain interesting facts and issues.
first up, read up about the 'ecstasy of st teresa' which is a very famous sculpture by Bernini. found out the existance of this sculpture from a book by Dan Brown 'Angels and Demons', thanks to Clement for lending it to me.
it is said that st teresa was a nun, and while she was sleeping, she was visited by an angel. however, her enounter was more sexual than spiritual and the sculpture actually depicts her having an orgasm.
his great golden spear.......filled with fire.....plunged into me several times...penetrated to my entrails.....a sweetness so extreme that one cold not possibly wish it to stop.
now, this had led me to think, if this was really true, could it be that the vigin mary also had a similar experience and thus leading to the birth of jesus?? yes, she may be a virgin, as she had not had intercourse with any mortal man, but what about immortal? oh well, just a passing thought. no offence to catholics out there.mr horny AT LAST played the guitar for me!! well, as i was busy strumming away in his acoustic guitar (not that i had any idea how to play it) and bugging him to teach me, he decided to shut me up by demo-ing for me by playing the intro of 'nothing else matters' by Metallica.
well, over web cam, i kept bugging him to play it again for me and i secretly took this photo. *chuckles*
only one word to describe: mesmersing.
never really people playing instruments for me before, maybe except for the buskers on the streets, but it really was a really nice warm FUZZY feeling inside.
scenario: the usual gang of people tanning at the shores of siloso beach, witnessing the magnificency of the sunset, and suddenly, mr horny whips out his guiter from behind him and starts strumming away beside a campfire. how romantic yea??
except, i have no idea how is he gonna just whip out a guitar out of thin air and i think it is illegal to actually start a campfire on the beach.
anyway, there's this person i am getting more and more exasperated with. not only is he self-centred, he ACTS like a know-it -all, steals credits from the hard work of others, speaking out of points during presentations, contradicts his fellow team members and speaks too much for his own good.
sorry for the sudden bitching, had to get it off my chest though.
was in the same group as benjamin today and we started talking about THE Hillsong Conference. aww man, now i wished i was there. and benjamin as like, your pastor in such a great speaker!!
oh yea. you can say that again.

PASTOR PRINCE ROCK!!be jealous people, be VERY jealous, coz' he's my church pastor!! i mean seriously, he is one of the best speakers i've heard. he changed my perspective of my Daddy God and i could never thank him more. at least now i look forward for church every sunday!
was in a discussion wth my facilitator during break time about why don't the local universities have degrees for philosophy( getting interested in it man!) and he said something about how the available degrees in singapore are what singapore's economy needs, like sciences and business. anyway, it led to a discussion about why isn't the government doing anything about the sky hghg cut-off points for polytechnic admissions. sad but true, i wanted to get into courses like veteinary and psychology, but the cut-off points was 10 and 9 respectively. furthermore, students appliacable for junior colleges are not going to their rightful positions in those schools. think about it, if more and more 'smarter' students were to decide to enrol to a polytechnic and that the cut-off points get higher and higher every year, what is there left for the more average students?? eventually the discussion died off as the lesson starts . as today's topic was on 'science vs religion' (thus the sudden interest of philosophy), i manage to find an intersting fact about how intricately the earth was made, something that science is not able to explain till now.The Earth...its size is perfect. The Earth's size and corresponding gravity holds a thin layer of mostly nitrogen and oxygen gases, only extending about 50 miles above the Earth's surface. If Earth were smaller, an atmosphere would be impossible, like the planet Mercury. If Earth were larger, its atmosphere would contain free hydrogen, like Jupiter.3 Earth is the only known planet equipped with an atmosphere of the right mixture of gases to sustain plant, animal and human life. The Earth is located the right distance from the sun, any further away from the sun, we would all freeze. Any closer and we would burn up.cool yea??also learned that there are also some aspects that religion actually compliments science. like karma- what goes around comes around, and newton's 3rd law- every action has an equal or opposite reactiondid not know that the hieracrchy of the social chain even exists in our school! here's what happend. this female classmate of mine called hui min went to fart into benjamin's face. turning to me,he said, the populars farts at the nerds. conversely, i wouldn't consider ben a nerd, judging from how is one of the funniest guys in my class.
alright, inspiration running dry, thus, writing getting dry.
signing off,
love,
chanel
ps: i've decided to name my future daughter che'nelle. don't you dare tell me how bimbotic it is. it either that or tittinger. but i prefer the previous.
pss: to lion, don't think so much yea!! i'll try my best to shoot that a**hole down!! maybe with a carbine or a SAR 21, what do you recommend? *chuckles*
psss: to anna, don't think too much too!! all things work together for the common good. so please do not ever ever do whatever you did again to yourself you hear me??! no man is ever worth what you did, and trust me, i've been there, done that. Don't cry over anyone who won't cry over you because the guy who is worth your tears will never make you cry. i'll still be here if you need a listening ear yea!! cheer up girl!
